Their excuse is that Rosetta does not do the G5 (and previously G4) instructions but that is bogus - Classic applications don't use G4 and G5 instructions which came long after their time. I also don't trust the optical media. I've seen too many go bad. As a result I switched from backing up on CD's and DVD's to using multiple HD's and just keeping all of my data always on my currently working HD's. It takes up more room but is more likely to mean I can get to it and the backup drives which I rotate out of the building.
