home :: Home :: Flooding_threat...diana.html Sun, 08 Jun 2008Flooding threatens dams in Indiana All we lost was a flood gate at the north end of the main pasture, so we got off pretty lucky. Power went out for a couple of hours Friday night and was intermittent at other times (I would hear the battery backups give a beep or two and the clocks in the kitchen would need reset) but otherwise no damage. A lot of the places you'll be seeing on the news in relation to this are very familiar to us: Lorraine's family is mostly in Morgan County a she has a brother near Columbus - those folks got really nailed. This last week has been one of those "weeks from Hel" that read about happening to other folks - we're way behind on everything, and are getting ready to go hit the barn and shear some sheep. And the lawnmower is actually fixed, so maybe we can get caught up a bit today. Severe storms flooded central Indiana with as much as 10 inches of rain Saturday and spawned tornadoes that ripped up roofs and flipped tractor-trailers in Wisconsin and the Chicago suburbs.
