The Last Weekend

Were I to blog honestly about the events of the last five days (from Friday through yesterday, Tuesday) neither of my readers would believe it - it'd have to be marked as fiction. Perhaps someday I'll tell the full tale. For now, suffice it to say that I have a new toilet, a new shower head, a new wetwall in the bathroom, a new back door (with deadbolt) and two refitted window screens.

None of this was weather related - it was damage by another sort of storm. The problem has been corrected. And yes, I'm still married and quite happily, too.

The only weather related disaster (so far) has been Cubby, who leapt the gate to her little sleeping space Monday night during a horrendous thunderstorm and then crashed through a partially open window in the dining room. We haven't seen her since.

In other news, my new lawnmower is still sitting with broken blades, but that's OK because it's rained every day. Lots of rain.

I'm about out of cash, I'm exhausted, and I've missed two days of work this week. Hammer is limping from spring grass founder, Francie (the goat) is limping from an injured front leg and the sheep haven't been sheared. It's supposed to be 90°F tomorrow. I hope I don't have baked lamb for dinner.

Ah, the bucolic country life.
