I'm submitting my pistol permit application this week. NY is probably the toughest state to get a handgun permit. Application in triplicate, 4 references who have to sign the application and then answer a mailed questionnaire, gun safety class, fingerprints, state and FBI background checks and approval by a court judge. Takes at least 6 months, and $150.00 and is still tough to get approved.

To this armed liberal, out here in the hinterlands of the Hoosier State, gun control means using both hands. I own guns for protection from predators, both human and animal. And I consider anything that tries to take my weapons away as a predator - and deal with them accordingly. Be well, Dave H.

According to statistics, gunshot victims generally know the shooter, having a gun in the house increases the odds of being shot, etc, etc. So, new policy: supply politicians with guns. :)
