Maybe I'm a bit cynical, and I also could be wrong. It is my understanding the material Armstrong tested positive for was EPO not EVO. In fact I'm not sure what EVO is. EPO (Erythropoietin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erythropoietin) is a synthetic protein sold by Amgen and others that increases the red blood cell count and therefore allows cyclists to ride faster and farther. When what I believe is a mistake so fundamental in the reporting occurs I stop reading the article. I probably miss out on a lot of good insights this way. Of course cycling is so below the radar (except when something bad happens) I'm not surprised when the press muffs it. E.G. When Landis won the tour a PBS commentator botch his name. Oh well.
