I particularly noted the subsidy that the company received: The deal has outraged Scottish politicians and labor leaders, with one union official calling on Virgin to return more than $1 billion in government subsidies the company collected last year. Sir Richard Branson may have messed with the wrong Vikings. This seems to be a developing strategy with some operators: take the proffered cash for staying put, and then flee as soon as the terms expire. Sort of like a combination of blackmail and burglary...
