Lesson From Tor Hack: Anonymity and Privacy Aren't the Same

The always interesting Bruce Schneier on a crucial distinction that most people simply gloss over.

As long as Tor is a magnet for "interesting" traffic, it will be a magnet for those who want to eavesdrop on that traffic -- especially because more than 90 percent of Tor users don't encrypt.

Notes: If you put a <mailto:> link in the URL field your address will not be mangled: this could be a bad idea as your email address could be easily harvested by bots designed for SPAM.
