Updated IPods Confirm Apple's Monopoly, Lawyers Say

These people need to understand what a monopoly is: a government sanctioned "exclusive". The iPod is no more of a monopoly than Microsoft Internet Explorer was - while M$ may have indulged in illegal contracts and violated business rules, they were never a monopoly because you could always buy a Mac, run Linux or install Lynx - there was no law that required you to run IE.

When Steve Jobs unveiled his company's new line of music players, consumers saw cool new gadgets. Attorneys who claim Apple engages in anticompetitive behavior saw something else entirely.
