French farmers threaten TV series

In a bizarrre sense, it's nice to see that the US is not alone in it's urbanized disdain for farming. It's so cute to watch the city slickers: "Ohhh, gross!" - while helping a ewe through a difficult birth.

On the other hand, such an atttitude towards the real producers of any society: those of us who grow the food the rest of the country eats, is disturbing no matter where it occurs. It shows a very real lack of understanding - steak doesn't come naturally wrapped in plastic, popping up in freezers. It's a part of an animal, and animals are born, not made. Milk is not packaged in cartons by Mother Natures - it has to be squeezed out of teats and put there: by farmers. I'm reminded of a bimper sticker I had on my truck at one time: If you want to complain about farmers, don't do it with your mouth full!

Farmers threaten legal action against a French reality TV show unless it comes off the air this week.
