President Bush isn't troubled by some of the weakest approval ratings of his presidency, he said Thursday in a wide-ranging birthday interview with CNN's "Larry King Live."

Demand for organic food outstrips supply

Good news, bad news. It's good that people care about the quality of their food, but it's too bad they can't seem to see their way clear to care about its source. Some of the countries that are exporting organic food to us do actually enforce the USDA standards, I'm sure. But many others just rubber stamp any farm that comes along as "organic". And the standards themselves have become so lax as to be meaningless - with enough money and the right lawyers, I could get "certified" without changing a thing about the way I produce.

But still, I gotta take heart from pieces like this. I know my sales have been steadily trending up, and the only problem is remaining viable while maintaining that kind of growth. I sell more eggs in a week now than I did in a month last year - or in the entire season in 2004. So it's a real trend. And with enough hard work and good luck, maybe someday my girls and their eggs will help me make some serious money doing what I love so much.

AP - America's appetite for organic food is so strong that supply just can't keep up with demand. Organic products still have only a tiny slice, about 2.5 percent, of the nation's food market. But the slice is expanding at a feverish pace.
