A devil food is turning our kids into homosexuals

Ya know, I'm not a big fan of soy substitute products, either, but well, there's a reason the right wing rag this rant comes from is frequently referred to as "World Nut Daily". And this illustrates it perfectly.

Soy is feminizing, and commonly leads to a decrease in the size of the penis, sexual confusion and homosexuality.

Day Two

and no, I'm not planning on having a numbered post from here to eternity describing my office experiences. But I did have to mention the extreme "culture shock" I suffered yesterday - it's harder than I expected getting back into the swing of meetings, task lists and email routing, even harder than it is to get up to speed on a new compiler and new device API's. I was outdoors exactly once yesterday between the hours of eight and five - and that was going to get lunch, which will be come a regular habit as opposed to eating at the company cafeteria for that very reason.

And trying to get into code without a cat on my lap, a cigarette in my hand, a dog (or two) at my elbow and a peacock screeching on the front porch was more unnerving than I ever imagined it could be. But I'll get used to it, and deal with it. Because it's making all the things I truly love possible.

Apple a-quiver over iPod vibrator copyright clash

Apple's real complaint is that the style of animations used to promote the iBuzz closely resembles the style of animations in the Apple iPod commercials.

Too freaking bad, Steve. You can't copyright or trademark or patent a style - yet. It didn't work against Microsoft, and it ain't gonna fly here either.

Apple has set the lawyers on the makers of the iBuzz iPod-driven vibrator. The company claims the website established by UK supplier LoveHoney to promote the stimulatory accessory violates its copyright.

Even slight holiday weight gain can set stage for obesity, health risks

Arghhh! Here's what the headline (and the lead paragraph) doesn't tell you:

But even a slight weight gain, if left intact, can accumulate yearly and endanger health.

Well, duh! Any weight gain that doesn't go away contributes to your long term weight - and if you gained an additional 5 pounds per year between the ages of, say, 18 and 65, that's 235 pounds that you'd never lose! And yeah, after a lifetime of that, you'd be obese - about 500 pounds by age 75!

I daresay that this doesn't happen often, if at all, according to this scenario. It's just one more thing that the worry mongers want us to fret over, one more little pleasure the killjoys are out to demolish, one more bit of misery they'll try to cram down our throats...

If I can't have a delicious Yuletide feast with my family, perhaps I'll just drink up - oh, wait, that's bad for me, too! Maybe I'll have a few more cigarettes to suppress my appetite - nope, that'll kill me!

Here's a headline you'll never see: Living Causes Death. Everything that lives will die. Deal with it.

Although some Americans gain five to seven pounds with a diet of big meals and sweets between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, most people only gain a pound or two during the holidays, according to a UT Southwestern Medical Center registered dietitian.
