and no, I'm not planning on having a numbered post from here to eternity describing my office experiences. But I did have to mention the extreme "culture shock" I suffered yesterday - it's harder than I expected getting back into the swing of meetings, task lists and email routing, even harder than it is to get up to speed on a new compiler and new device API's. I was outdoors exactly once yesterday between the hours of eight and five - and that was going to get lunch, which will be come a regular habit as opposed to eating at the company cafeteria for that very reason.
And trying to get into code without a cat on my lap, a cigarette in my hand, a dog (or two) at my elbow and a peacock screeching on the front porch was more unnerving than I ever imagined it could be. But I'll get used to it, and deal with it. Because it's making all the things I truly love possible.
