Re-arranging

I figured I'd better post a warning in case new posts here disappear for a few days. I'm re-arranging the office and making it a bedroom for my mom, so I can keep a closer eye on her. She suffered almost continuous angina yesterday, and it's just not possible for me to stay there in her apartment with her, as the animals need tended, eggs need packed and the odd computer contract/web design job needs done. So I'm moving her here, at least for a few days. We'll see where we go after that.

This will necessitate a rather complete reworking of my internal network setup - not only will machine have to be moved, but wires will as well, or I'll have to find the cash to go wireless. Which shouldn't be that expensive, but I'll have to check it out before I make a final design decision.

It's gonna be pure chaos for a bit, but I should be used to that by now. After all, I've already got half a century of near chaos under my belt - what's a few more weeks of the concentrated form?

The people who claim "the surge is working"

You gotta read this! It seems as though the idiot in Washington that claims to represent the district immediately east of my residence has taken a tour of a Baghdad market and compared it to a summer farmer's market in the Hoosier state. I have to wonder which farmer's markets in Indiana Mr. Pence has been frequenting, as I've sold at several of them over the years, and haven't ever been mortared, targeted by a sniper or found myself dodging shrapnel from a car bomb...

Although I daresay that given the general public anger at politicians right now, should Mr. Pence decide to tour a market here he would do well to bring along the same security contingent that accompanied his Iraqi outing.

The sprawling and truly disturbing gap between Mike Pence's delusions/claims and actual reality is, in essence, the black hole into which America's credibility and security have disappeared over the last six years.
