Turbo Pascal version 1.0

David I has a wonderful list of industry news from '83, but I have a more personal take. You see, in related news, Dave Haxton had gotten his first personal computer, a Commodore 64, in December of 1982. That makes 1983 the year I started programming.

A quarter century. No wonder I feel old.

Turbo Pascal version 1.0 was released on November 20, 1983. There was a lot going on throughout 1983 during the time of Turbo Pascal’s development and first shipment. Here are a few computer industry milestones that took place in 1983.
