Why Sustainable Power Is Unsustainable

Interesting point, although it mostly applies to solar and hydrogen technologies. Biofuels (done right) and wind aren't nearly as dependent on exotics as other alternatives.

Although scientists are agreed that we must cut carbon emissions from transport and electricity generation to prevent the globe's climate becoming hotter, the most advanced 'renewable' technologies are too often based upon non-renewable resources including indium and platinum — resources that could dry up in 10-15 years if they were widely used in the renewable energy market.

US lawmaker injects ISP throttle into Obama rescue package

How stimulating! Let's turn the Net into a walled garden - or perhaps a gated community. Very gated.

Doesn't surprise me to see Feinstein and Waxman behind this - those two seem bound and determined to kill that golden egg laying goose, whatever it takes.

US Senator Dianne Feinstein hopes to update President Barack Obama's $838bn economic stimulus package so that American ISPs can deter child pornography, copyright infringement, and other unlawful activity by way of "reasonable network management."
