Battening Down the Hatches

for the cold snap that's heading our direction. The high today was 32°F - the high on Thursday this week is forecast to be -6°F. We double checked the stock tank water heater, and the line. Piled more straw outside the henhouse and picked up an extra bag of feed.

In another year, I might have complained more about this. But this year, I've been blogging over at Honk & Helen, and have been reading her comments on the weather for this time of year in 1953-54. And it was as changeable then as it is now. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
